I'm 29 and live in Western Canada. I've been struggling with my weight for about 6 years now due to the harmful drug called Depo Provera. I finally went off it in August of 2003. My thyroid is still a mess and I'm struggling with a list of other healthy problems from it as well. I've used the Atkins diet to lose some weight, but find that nothing helps me at all now.

I'm 5'7", and weigh about 170 pounds. My goal is to get back down to about 135. This wouldn't be so bad except that I wear it all through my mid section (tummy, hips, behind, upper theighs), so I wear a size 18. My arms and lower legs, and upper chest are pretty thin. Between my health problems, underactive thyroid, and my desk job, it's a tough battle. But I'm not going to let myself become obese again, and one of these days I will find a way to get healthy and get rid of the excess fat.
