Hair Loss

Okay, so I've lost weight. But I've also lost hair. I'm told it's probably due to having not enough protein in my diet, plus possible anemia. So, the anemia I need my Doc to check out, but the protein?
With the low-fat diet I try to follow, getting enough protein without getting the fat or calories is a bit tough, even with stuff like tofu featuring regularly. So my question is; are there any protein supplements that are low cal? I don't want to add calories with 'crap' - you know, the processed stuff I've tried hard to avoid. If I wasn't worried about calories, I could just eat some meat, you know? So those shakes and stuff seem like a bad idea to me; I'm trying to avoid the whole shake/powder/bar thing. But... I don't want to be bald either.
So, what have you lot come across in your dieting quests? Any low-cal low fat protein sources or supplements you can suggest, and do they have any side effects I should watch out for?
Thanks everyone!
