Hmmm, I don't know anything about the whole protien/anemia thing. I haven't really had signifagnant hair loss, but ever since I was on depakote my hair comes out a little easier. More so when I was taking it (stoped taking it about 6 years ago), but my hand often looks like Thing just gropped Cousin It when I'm in the shower.

Or do what papoo would always threaten to do to me. He'd always tease me that he was going to have the hairdresser shave me bald so I wouldn't need another haircut
