Taking Control of Diabetes

I've only lost three pounds so far but that's ok. My pants are already beginning to get looser. But the best thing of all is that I am already beginning to feel better. I started walking on my breaks during work. First I walked one time around the building and it was excruciating pain on my hips from all this extra weight. I could barely make it around one time. I actually had to stop and sit at a picnic table before I even made it all the way around. I was so short of breath and it hurt so much. Then I started trying for two times around. It's not a small building so it was pretty far for me since I'm so out of shape and heavy. Today I already have made it up to 3 times around without stopping and I'm not even short of breath after. The pain is also letting up already and my pants are not skin tight to my butt as they were a week and a half ago.
I went to the doctor yesterday for my diabetes check up. I knew it was going to be very bad and it was. I'm supposed to shoot for a 6.9 A1C....blood glucose level. Mine was 11 point something. I can't believe I let this happen to me. No wonder my eyesight is so blurry. I am shooting for some drastic changes and I'm going to make it happen as fast as I can. I know that's not the best weigh to do this but right now I am actually more concerned about my diabetes than my weight. So if it takes losing weight quickly to get this under control that is what I must do. I have to say....all this sure is a huge shot of motivation.
