I never thought I could lose weight. I had tried every diet - keto, paleo, Weight Watchers, you name it. Nothing stuck. Then I decided to try the simplest approach possible.
The Starting Point
At 215 pounds and 5'4", I was uncomfortable in my own skin. Simple things like tying my shoes left me winded. I knew I had to change, but I was tired of complicated diets.
What I Actually Did
I downloaded MyFitnessPal and started logging everything I ate. No restrictions, just awareness. I set my calorie goal to 1,500 and started walking 30 minutes every day during my lunch break.
That was it. No gym. No meal prep Sundays. No cutting out food groups.
The Results
It took 11 months to lose 45 pounds. Not fast, but sustainable. I learned that I was eating way more than I realized - those "healthy" smoothies were 600 calories! Walking became my therapy. Now I walk 5 miles on weekends just because I enjoy it.
My Advice
Start simpler than you think you need to. You do not need a perfect plan. You need a plan you will actually follow.
