The best of both worlds - rich chocolate brownies swirled with creamy cheesecake. A decadent but low-fat treat.
Ingredients
For Brownies:
1 1/2 cups flour
2 cups sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
2/3 cup applesauce
6 egg whites
2 teaspoons vanilla
1/2 cup plus 1 tablespoon cocoa
For Cheesecake Layer:
3 packages (8 oz each) fat-free cream cheese
3/4 cup sugar
3 eggs (use egg substitute)
1 tablespoon vanilla
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
2. For brownies: Combine dry ingredients separately from wet ingredients, then mix together.
3. Spray a large 9x13 pan and pour brownie mix into it.
4. For cheesecake: Beat cream cheese until smooth. Add sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Beat until combined.
5. Pour cheesecake mixture on top of brownie batter.
6. Run a knife through both layers to create a swirl pattern.
7. Bake for 40-45 minutes or until done.
8. Cool completely before cutting.
